Highest Paid NFLer Patrick Mahomes Just Bought A Stake In A Professional Baseball Team & He’s Only 24!

Just when thought 2020 couldn’t get any better for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes … it did. He’s now one of the newest owners of the Kansas City Royals at just 24-years-old. More inside…

2020 just keeps getting better for NFL player Patrick Mahomes.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback just became the newest owner of the Kansas City Royals. And he’s only 24!

After signing his monster 10-year, $503 million deal with the Chiefs, he’s clearly putting his money to good use. The Royals took to Twitter to announce the Super Bowl winning quarterback as a new member of their ownership group. It’s unclear how much of a stake he took in the team, or his stake’s value. Either way, THIS is a MAJOR deal!

The NFL QB reposted the Royals’ announcement to his own account, celebrating the good news:

“I’m honored to become a part owner of the Kansas City Royals,” Patrick said in a statement. “I love this city and the people of this great town. This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community, which is something I’m excited to do.”

“We are very proud and excited to have Patrick as our partner in the ownership group of this franchise,” John Sherman, Chairman, CEO and Principal owner of the Royals, said in a statement.

The 24-year-old became the youngest part owner in the team’s history. He would have been the youngest part owner in sports history, but Serena Williams’ 2-year-old daughter, Olympia, already partially owns soccer team, Angel City FC.

Needless to say, Patrick’s new headquarters is in Kansas City. He’s originally from Texas.

If you didn’t know, Patrick’s father, Patrick Lavon Mahomes, Sr., is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball from 1992 to 2003 for the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Pittsburgh Pirates. So, this new ownership deal makes total sense.

Naturally, Patrick Jr. grew up loving baseball and also football. While attending Texas Tech, he played both football and baseball until his sophomore year, when he decided to focus solely on football.

Patrick Mahomes is only two years into the league and he has already won a Super Bowl, won Super Bowl MVP, has the largest sports contract in history and now he’s part owner of a MLB team. We thought we were killing ish at 24 but nevermind.

Congrats, Patrick!
