Five Suspects, Including 2 Teens, Arrested In Connection To Pop Smoke’s Murder As New Album Climbs The Charts + 50 Cent Reacts

Months after rapper Pop Smoke was killed during a home invasion, police have reportedly arrested five people in connection with his death. Deets inside….

Panamanian & Brooklyn-born rapper Pop Smoke - real name Bashar Barakah Jackson - was killed during a home invasion back in February inside a rental house in the Hollywood Hills. Now, his suspected killers have reportedly been caught.

Police have reportedly arrested five people - 3 adults, 2 juveniles - in connection to the murder of the "Welcome To The Party" rapper. TMZ reports the LAPD conducted multiple search warrants around the city to pick up the suspect killers.

It's unclear what charges the suspects are being brought up on, but they have reportedly been interviewed by police and booked.

Prior to the shooting, it was reported there was a party or gathering at the house. Pop Smoke also posted pics and video from the home on the day of the shooting, and he also - likely accidentally - showed his address while showing off the new clothes he was sent to the house. Neither the shooter(s), nor the motives, are known at this time. Pop's death rocked the rap world as his career was just starting to take off.

In March, the murder investigation had been derailed since police were having a hard time collecting credible witness accounts of what happened. It's reported the LAPD was struggling to find credible witnesses since people were changing their stories or have proven to be unreliable. Some people allegedly involved were refusing to talk at all. The police are certain Pop's murder was a targeted hit and not a robbery, however, they have not be able to lock in on a motive yet.

The arrests come less than a week after his posthumous debut studio album - Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon - was released.

According to Forbes, the album is on its way to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 after it was released last week. HITS Daily Double reports Pop's new album is projected to top the chart with 200,000-225,000 album-equivalent units, which includes an estimated 225 million streams and 35,000-45,000 traditional album sales.

50 Cent - who executive produced Pop's newly released album - reacted to news of the suspects being caught:
