Eva Marcille's time is DONE on "Real Housewives of Atlanta"! The mom of 3 reveals the reason she's leaving the show, while Bravo stays mum about her exit. Deets inside.
We've seen her welcome two babies and a husband while on "RHOA" for the last three years. Now, "Top Model" turned radio host and business woman Eva Marcille is throwing deuces to the hit Bravo show that seems to get messier and messier every season.
Eva revealed today on "The Ricky Smiley Morning Show," where she has been co-hosting for a couple years now, that she is leaving "RHOA" because her plans to help her community and the culture will be better served if she focused on other opportunities. Basically, being on "RHOA" isn't meshing well with her future goals.
"I appreciate the bond of friendship that I’ve made with my castmates and strong personal relationships I have with numerous executives and producers of Bravo," she said in a statement. "I am thankful for the opportunity I was provided, however, after speaking with my family and representatives, I believe that what I hope to accomplish for the culture and community will be better served by focusing on other opportunities."
She hinted that she will be staying on Rickey Smiley's show, though:
"I look forward to serving the community on The Ricky Smiley Morning show and finding other ways to be a voice during this transformational time during our country for people of color," she continued.
And she says she did make some friendships with some women on the show:
"The time that I spent on Housewives I enjoyed myself. I cried, I laughed, I obviously fought," she said. "Most importantly, I made some great friendships with some beautiful women."
"I believe my time is up. I have a 6-year-old daughter [Marley Rae] and two young boys [Michael Jr. and Maverick] still in diapers. They are 24 hours a day and there is a lot of work to be done. I decided to spend my time and energy focusing on my kids and my community," she said. "And not so much reality show business."
She didn't shade anyone either, saying she has love for all of her castmates:
“I love every single one of those black women. They are all queens all in their own right," she said. "They are stars and I wish them the most successful season and transformational season 13 that the Real Housewives of Atlanta has ever seen.”
Looks like mommyhood and re-imagining her goals made Eva re-think doing another season of the hit franchise. We can't blame her.
As for what Bravo has to say about this (because you know folks will speculate that she was actually fired), they have refused to comment when asked by publications.
Time will tell...
Meanwhile, both Eva and her husband, Michael Sterling Jr., have been outspoken about the Black Lives Matter protests and murders of unarmed black people by police.
Will you be sad to see Eva and her fam go?
