Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Spotted Out For The First Time In L.A. & They’re 'Outside' For An Amazing Reason

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were spotted in Los Angeles for the first time after moving there from Canada. And, of course, they were helping others. More inside…

Always giving back!

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry haven’t been in America for a month and they’re already giving back in a major way.

The (former?) Duke & Duchess of Sussex were spotted out in the streets of Los Angeles…for a good cause. A great cause actually. The royal couple was spotted on someone's Ring-like camera handing out meals to vulnerable people impacted by the pandemic in LA.

Decked out in face masks and gloves, the Sussexes were seen delivering food on behalf of the Los Angeles-based non-profit, Project Angel Food. They surprise residents at the Sierra Bonita Community Apartments in West Hollywood with meals and none of the recipients were tipped off that Meghan and Harry would be their personal Uber Eats.

You don’t see their security detail with them in the clip, but they followed close behind the couple in a separate SUV as they walked up to apartments to hand out the food. The couple spent two days traveling through L.A. delivering meals.

”My phone rang and a lady said, ‘Hi this is Meghan from Project Angel Food,’” 53-year-old Dan Tyrell, who has HIV and issues with high blood pressure, told DailyMail.com. "I said, ‘Oh, do you want to meet me downstairs?’ - I didn’t realize it was THE Meghan at this point.”

He said when he got downstairs and noticed two black SUVs outside of his apartment, he knew something was going on.

“Then I looked at Meghan and put it all together," he said after noticing there was a man with red hair with her that looked familiar to him.

"Here's your food and thank you. We hope you're well and that you're fine,” they told Dan as they handed him the meal.

“I didn't let on [that I knew who they were],” Dan said. “I didn’t want to make them uncomfortable or anything. To have someone come and deliver the food is amazing, it makes us here feel that somebody cares outside. So for Harry and Meghan to do this is amazing,” he continued.

Project Angel Food's executive director Richard Ayoub chopped it up with PEOPLE about the royal couple lending a helping hand.

"They were extremely down to earth and genuinely interested in every single person they met," Richard said. "They engaged with our chefs, they engaged with clients — they just wanted to make sure that people felt the love and appreciation. Their goal was really to just honor our chefs and staffs and volunteers by being of service."

"What Meghan said is she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy. It’s just beautiful," he added.

Check out video captured on surveillance of the couple doing their good deed:

Last month, Meghan and Harry fled their Vancouver residence for warmer weather and home territory for Megs. The couple, along with their 10-month-old son Archie, hopped on a private jet and traveled to Los Angeles before the borders between the U.S. and Canada were shut down due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
