CELEBRATING #2 & #24: Here’s Where To Watch Kobe & Gianna Bryant’s Memorial Service

The world will celebrate the life of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant and the seven other victims during a memorial service today. Go inside to find out where to watch…

Almost a month to the day Kobe Byrant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant and seven other victims lost their lives in a helicopter crash on January 26th, the world will celebrate their lives at a memorial service, "A Celebration of Life for Kobe & Gianna Bryant," that will be held today at the Staples Center in downtown L.A. at 1pm EST/10am PST.

The date, February 24th, is symbolic of the basketball jerseys worn by Kobe (#24) and Gianna (#2).

It’s reported more than 20,000 people – which will include family (his wife Vanessa Bryant and their three daughters Natalia, Bianace and Capri), friends and fans (80,000 people applied for tickets) – will fill the arena to celebrate. Kobe’s parents – Joe and Pam – will also be in attendance.



Proceeds from the tickets will benefit the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Oregon Ducks player Sabrina Ionescu will also speak during the memorial and then she’ll hop on a plane to fly to her game in Standford later today. According to ESPN, Kobe & Gianna jetted to Oregon before to see Sabrina play and they became close.

Some speakers include Houston Rockets’ players James Harden and Russell Westbrook. The Lakers organization – including management, coaches and players will also be in the mix. Golden State Warriors players Draymond Green, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, along with GM Bob Myers will represent for the Warriors.

Players from the LA Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies will also be attendance. Those teams will play at the Staples Center tonight.

“A Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant” will air live on several outlets. Peep the options below:

ABC7 will begin coverage of the memorial at 9 a.m. You can watch the broadcast on ABC7 and streaming online.

CBS All Access will carry the memorial service. The stream requires a subscription for viewing.

Coverage of the event will be available on CNN’s website.

FOX 11 will have full coverage of the memorial starting Monday morning with a special edition of Good Day LA live from Staples Center. The channel will broadcast and live stream the entire ‘Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant’ beginning at 10 a.m.

Entertainment Tonight’s live coverage will begin at 8 a.m. PT, with Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner live from Staples Center. Then at 10 a.m. PT, ET will stream the entire memorial, uninterrupted. On Monday night, Entertainment Tonight will have a complete recap of the event.

BET Networks will run content specials on its linear, digital and streaming platforms starting at 10 AM PT. The programming lineup will include the memorial service, anchored by author and activist Marc Lamont Hill and journalist, Jemele Hill. At 1 PM PT BET will air Kobe Bryant’s Muse, a documentary The day’s coverage will end with BET & Entertainment Tonight Present: “Kobe: Father, Husband, Legend, a look at Bryant’s life off the court. The show will air at 6 PM PT.

NBA TV will have coverage beginning at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), according to a programming schedule on its website.

Livestreams will also be available on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and elsewhere, according to the Los Angeles Lakers’ website.

Professional soccer player Sydney Leroux paid tribute to Gianna with a new tattoo, a #2 to represent Gianna’s basketball jersey number.

“Thank you for honoring my Gigi,” Vanessa Bryant wrote in the caption of a picture of Sydney’s new tattoo. “I love you @syndeyleroux.”

The soccer star is a close friend to the Bryant Family and she also wears a #2 jersey number for the Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League.
