Kanye West’s Jesus Is King album is here. Stream it inside…
It’s here!
Kanye West’s ninth studio album Jesus Is King. The religious-themed album was pushed back several times before it arrived today – and it was late then.
The highly anticipated project – along with an accompanying IMAX film - was originally set to drop on September 27th. Then, it was changed to September 29th. The album never came and there was no explanation as to why at that time. A few days ago, it was announced Jesus Is King would drop at midnight on October 25th.
He even made a surprise appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to announce it was out. However, hours later he tweeted that he was finishing up production on a few tracks and that it would be delayed….again. At least this time, it was a matter of hours rather than days.
Ye announced he was no longer doing secular music, so this album is filled with all gospel tunes. Ye even flexes his vocals on the track, “God Is.” On the track “Closed on Sunday,” Ye rapped about Chick-Fil-A.
“Closed on Sunday / You my Chick-fil-A / Hold the selfies / Put the ‘gram away / Get your family / Now hold hands and pray,” he rapped on the track.
Ty Dolla $ign, gospel singer Fred Hammond, the (reunited) Clipse, Jazz musician Kenny G and singer-songwriter Ant Clemons are featured on the LP.
