Kanye West says he’s no longer making secular music and will only be making gospel tunes from here on out. More about his new musical direction, plus flicks from his ‘Jesus Is King’ listening party in NYC inside….
A new Kanye West is upon us.
Mr. West has been traveling with his Sunday Service across the United States. He launched the feel-good movement in January at his Los Angeles home with his wife, Kim Kardashian West. Since then, he has held weekly “services” at select locations like Coachella, Atlanta and his hometown of Chicago.
Yesterday, he hosted his Sunday Service in Queens, NY at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral of New York, which also served as the listening party to his new album, Jesus Is King. There’s an accompanying film to go with the new LP too. 'Ye also hosted another listening party at Manhattan's United Palace.
During a listening party on Saturday, ‘Ye announced he will no longer make secular music. According to Andrew Barber of Fake Shore Drive, Yeezy will only be making gospel music from here on out.
Kanye also announced that he is no longer making secular music. Only Gospel from here on out.

It was also revealed that Kanye has recruited his G.O.O.D. Music artist Pusha T and his brother (No) Malice to be featured on a new track together. Malice changed his name to No Malice after turning his life over to the Lord.
It was great to hear the Clipse on a song together again. Hopefully this feature on the Kanye album opens the door for another project from Push & No Malice. I think a good shoulder / bad shoulder album from them would go crazy.

Saxophonist Kenny G is also said to be on Kanye’s new album:
Just heard Kanye’s new album Jesus Is King and saw the accompanying film. My favorite track is the last song and it features the Clipse. Both Push & No Malice. Kenny G is also on it. “New Body” has been cut from the album.

The beats on Jesus Is King sounded fire. He definitely pulled from elements of previous sounds that people loved from WTT, 808s, Yeezus, Cruel Summer & MBDTF and put a gospel spin on them.
Of course I need to hear them again, but they were knocking on the sound system he had

Jesus Is King was supposed to drop Sunday, but it hasn't been released yet. He did release his new merch with what looks like a pic of him on it that also resembles the likeness of Jesus. Shocker.
For the festivities, Ye brought his family with him for "church," including his wife Kim, daughters North & Chicago West, and son Saint West. We didn't come across any flicks of Pslam West.
The family was also spotted after having lunch at Cipriani before heading to the listening party.
These kids are growing up so fast!
'Ye's homie/superproducer Swizz Beatz was also in the mix for the Sunday Service events:
Church says Come As You Are, but y'all know a black church would have never let US up in there - a least not on the front pew - looking this casual and sleeveless.
Get into the gospel vibes below:
Will you be listening to Kanye's new Jesus Is King album...whenever he decides to drop it?
