Gabrielle Union is putting husband Dwyane Wade on blast for being on over-protective daddy mode with his only daughter Kaavia Wade.  But can we blame him? Plus, Kaavia's basically Boss Baby already.  The cuteness ensues inside.

When Kaavia goes to her first school dance with -- gasp -- a date, yeah, good luck with that.  Between her daddy and her bothers, she's going to need it. Gabrielle Union pulled up at "Live with Kelly & Ryan" to talk about over protective daddy, retired NBA baller D-Wade, and her new show "L.A.'s Finest."

During her chit chat that aired this AM, Gab said Kaavia was just trying to live her life at her swim lessons, wearing a swimsuit perfectly appropriate for a 5 month old, and pops wasn't having it.  "Why is her back out?!"  Gab said she's basically in scuba gear now.

Kaavia - who already has her "Shady Baby" nickname her parent gave her trademarked AND a mommy-and-me collection of clothes with Gabrielle's NY & Company line - is the boss of the house though, still.  Watch one of our fave new mommies gush about her baby girl below:

As for how she spent her first Mother's Day last weekend, she smashed some subs in Dwyane's face while he was on a strict diet.  Oh wells.

I've cried so many times today for so many reasons, mainly because I'd gotten accustomed to heartbreak and disappointment. I think alot of us live in that space. I set up shop there. This moment reminded me that miracles do happen. You cant age out of joy. You are worthy. You are worthy. You are worthy.
